2020 Review, and some thoughts on 2021

I’m sat here now, working from home, on my bed to be exact, catching up on Donald Trump’s ‘farewell’ speech from last night. It prompted me to reflect back on 2020 to examine in general terms how the year went, highlight some successes and learning points, as well as my approach to 2021.

2020 started off well. From a Daygame and travel perspective I was active. New Years Day saw two notches from Daygame (including a Siberian blonde virgin – did I tell you about her, Nick?) and on the return flight back from Poland I opened a Polish girl at the airport who I ended up seeing pretty much for the whole year. I think by the first week of 2020 I had 3 Daygame notches. Fucking good right? Fast forward to December (coming up below), it gets fucking worse.

I didn’t wait for spring and continued to get abroad for long weekends/quick hits up until the end of February including one short trip to Ukraine to see a friend for 2 nights (where I did no Daygame) but I somehow developed some excellent leads with girls as I was out and about. I didn’t feel the February cold; grey skies and wet, sodden streets never phased me, I just saw opportunity. Cheap flights, cute girls in scarves, evenings with a beer and a whisky. And then China fucked the planet.

Travel was obviously fucked in the short-term and then I was furloughed by my work which resulted in an enforced period off-work despite being paid 80% salary. Thankfully, we had an amazing warm Spring and I spent almost two months running, training with the 10, 15 & 20kg dumbbells I had snagged from my gym. I got back into reading and keeping as active as possible, gardening and generally utilising my time well. Routine was key. I really stripped down and had sub-10% bodyfat and was around 195 pounds. I was lean and hungry. I had booked a month in Belarus for July only for my furlough to end abruptly, and I was called back into work. So what do you do when your jaunt to Belarus is cancelled? You do the only the thing you can do: make the most of your situation. My environment was, in Daygame terms, a sparse ecology. Byker High Street (yes, Byker Grove infamy) saw some early post-lockdown activity as I hit the streets.

Me on Byker High Street, yesterday.

Fucking what, Byker?” was the response from Matt and Glen as I proselytised on the virtues of this new stomping ground. Admittedly, sets were thin on the ground but you could find one or two in amongst the 10k+ steps in the sun. As it turned out I think I had 4 or 5 lays from 50 or 60 sets across that time-period including a very unmemorable threesome. One of these was a SDL from a cute 21 year old, literally within 2 hours of being stood-up by another cute 21 year old earlier that night. The Daygame Gods for sure threw me a bone that night.

The learning here is of course that attitude, belief and positive thinking are key. This activity in sub-optimum circumstances was so important for my development and instead of seeing the mid-point of 2020 as a wash-out I was full of positivity and critically, I was highly motivated. There were still cute girls on the streets. In mid-June I was out with a wing and it was his first set in months. He went to approach a very cute girl but he bailed and exited inches from her. I went in and opened her. This was the start of a very deep, but sometimes difficult relationship. I am still in touch with her and yes, we are basically still together.

Several coaching trips ensued and I got on board with James Tusk and ran coaching trips in Poland. Girls came and went. My activity diminished considerably in the UK but I kept reasonable activity when abroad although the most frustrating thing was the tone-change I noticed in women across the latter part of the year. I don’t know whether my Game (intent) was a lot more direct as leads would burn out if I wasn’t in the country to try and convert them. I certainly displayed less patience to long-lead as I perhaps did in the earlier phase of the year.

November and December (yes, I told you to watch out for December) were absolute wash-outs locally owing in part to the lockdown as well as the sheer number of shitty leads I was acquiring. 60 sets – one date. I think it is also safe to say that my daygame regressed somewhat as a result to having a less overtly flirtatious methodology when opening in Newcastle owing to internalised understanding that most British girls are effectively quasi-feminists and heavily masculine in their attitudes toward men in general. Add this their generally lack of ability to talk to a man unless she’s pissed in a club or via Tinder and street interactions in provincial English cities present certain challenges largely absent on the continent.

January is almost out and I have had three dates from girls opened over the last month or so (including 2 that I took back home). No sex, but it is a return on investment in what are very sparse and challenging times. It is activity and activity levels are utterly critical in my experience as spring 2020 showed me.

2021

Like most, I will be abroad at my earliest opportunity. But for January and February my sole aims are:

  1. Maximise a window of opportunity in work to make a good level of income.
  2. Train. Yes, both of my rotator cuffs are now playing up badly but I must keep training.
  3. Diet and walking. Keep eating sensibly but fuck it and eat what I want on weekends.
  4. Daygame. I aim to walk 10k minimum steps 5 days per week and do one set each of these days. So it’s 5 sets per week.
  5. I have a basic wish-list for this year in terms of destinations: these are a) Serbia b) Russia. My trip with James Tusk to work in Brazil was fucked by Chinese Plague part 2 so I am raging a little about this but will make lemonade all the same.

All in all 2020 was fucking brilliant. Travelled, met some great people in Daygame, met some great girls, had some ups and downs. And was involved with several woman across the bulk of the year.
