Who to listen to in Daygame

I wanted to write a post aimed at new guys (old timers too) because the landscape has changed both in daygame and relationship advice on X over the last 5 years. I’ve become a bit fatigued and cynical with some of it.

Back when it all started there was a real corner of characters with wildly varying expertise levels but one thing that linked most of these men together was their genuine origin and growth stories. Most of these accounts have now gone and the void has sadly been filled by marketers, theorists, heuristic copers (think r/K), chronic regurgitation of old ideas repackaged as innovation, and vacuous engagement farmers with major scam and grift tells (Baynes/John Anthony). They emerged from nowhere, with no real improvement and development arc, no credibility and simply rinse and repeat the same red pill crap and repackage their online lays as a false god we should bow down to. The reality is that it’s nothing more than an alter of lies, misdirection and marketing. Think the Spectres and Baynes of this world. There are many more. Think any of the bot accounts (handles like Masculine Essence) posting the same banal, wearisome crap. Or, just as grifty, the young guys dating swill and repackaging shit as gold, all while wearing masks on their faces to shill their shitty subscription products…fucking grifters man.

I’ve been here a while and they haven’t. Permutations of their scam come and go. Sadly, so many guys fall into the trap and head off in a wrong direction.

Pay attention to men with:

1. Accounts with origin stories and a genuine attempt to blog and record their journey. No blog, no respect.
2. Avoid the overt red pill/bro/player accounts. They are engagement farming and offer nothing of value.
3. Blog posts are real experience. These are subject to peer review. Blog posts are a body of work. A series of papers. They show genuine involvement and commitment. The development arc of the long format blog imbues credibility, while their advice can be tested by peers. It represents real skin in the game. Excessive reliance on short-form X posts is just lazy, noncommittal at best and stolen valour for the most part. There’s a real difference between these men and these mediums.

Below are are some of the people I would recommend in terms of daygame and relationship advice. There are few surprises here. They’ve stood the test of time and all bring something different and the right ethos.

@Pat_Stedman
One of the most important antedotes to the worst of the red pill. His writing is incredibly important.
@unrealBodi
blog. A legitimate gen 1 daygamer part of the old school. A legend.
Nick Krauser blog. It goes without saying no one will ever get close to what Nick gave us.
Tom Toreros podcasts. Beautiful. Poetic. Inspirational. Weaving the joy of travel and relationships into wisdom.

What can we conclude from this list? There’s been very little new contributions (with the exception of me) to the community since the halcyon days of the Gen 1 London school.

BroodingSea, January 2026

The daygame grifter 2.0. A new gen swillartist in his 20s doing spamgame on 6s and trying to market this the gormy normy masses.
